Teh Newz: exist†trace's TRUE and f(x)'s Hot Summer

The exist†trace fierce girls are back with an astounding

2010 was a year overflowing with new groups. So many that some just disappeared, leaving people wondering about what they were doing. On the other hand, groups like miss A or C.N Blue achieved great success, beating even senior artists on weekly music shows.

 C.N Blue - a 2010 artist that doesn't even seem to be a rookie

Unfortunately, these new stars found a big problem after successfully entering the idol world. Many hardcore fans from senior artists created some kind of resistance against the rookies. Claiming that they will never be what the older groups are and constantly making comparisons only to say bad things about the newcomers are the most common attacks.

Even if I try to understand this behavior, I really just can't stand the ridiculous position that some people take. You know, those guys/girls worked really hard to even debut. After that, they still have to shine in their live performances and hope to be acknowledged by the audience. When you are beginning it's not easy to stand out, but they persevere and believe in their dreams of becoming famous or simply of doing what they like (singing, dancing...)

Infinite - a rookie boy group that impressed with the perfect live synchronization

So I ask these particular "senior fans": Why the annoying rejection? If you see the rookies as some kind of dangerous competition, I beg to differ. First of all, they are a healthy competition, because it will eventually make the veterans work harder not to lose their superior posts. Also, the new groups aren't there just thinking "Oh, I'll kick these old people's butts and show who's the best". They have a respectful relationship and want to watch their seniors as an inspiration for a better work.

2PM and miss A - a beautiful representation of senior-rookie friendship

Aside from those career-related points, there's the musical interest. Newcomers, while not always, try to bring freshness to the industry, with possible new trends and addictive tunes. f(x)'s "Nu ABO" is a great example of that as it proposed a "new blood" to the Korean pop music, which I doubt that would be presented by SNSD's or Super Junior's songs. In fact, I see many people saying on forums that they are tired of hearing the same beats on K-Pop, so let's give a chance for these new groups to change this!

f(x) - bringing new blood to the idol industry

I personally think that new groups = new music. And that's what matters, because good music is never enough. Oh, it's true that crappy stuff also appears in the middle of the rookie mess, but there's nothing to worry about it as time itself will send these disgusting songs to the music limbo to rot. Newcomers deserve as much attention as any other group, if not more, due to their extreme hard work. Remember, your "legends" were also a rookie one day and could only grow with the support of true fans.
