When talking about japanese music, you can't forget about Tomoko Kawase, singer of the band "the brilliant green". This time I'll talk about one of her solo projects, "tommy heavenly6". Don't worry, the time to write about "tommy february6" and "the brilliant green" will surely come! ^^
Tommy heavenly6 and her guitar
It all started in 2003. After years of successful releases with "the brilliant green", Tomoko Kawase was experimenting synth sounds with her cute-self, "tommy february6". But she felt something was missing. In that same year, in one of february's live concerts, Tomoko took off her glasses during one song and revealed her new solo project, "tommy heavenly6". The new image was created from february6's repressed emotions, which ended up in this rock-ish, rebel girl.
The following three years had few releases from heavenly6 as Tomoko was still defining her style. Three singles and one eponymous album gathering those singles were produced.

After the successful start of the new project, the singer decided to dedicate 2006 and 2007 for tommy heavenly6. Four singles, including "Pray", used as the opening for the "Gintama" anime, "Lollipop Candy♥BAD♥girl", the famous Halloween song, and "I♥Xmas", were released just in 2006. The following year had an album production.

Unfortunately, Tomoko stopped the release madness and spent almost a whole year without producing new songs. It was only in December 2008 that tommy heavenly6 made her comeback, proving that she was still in perfect form. The single "Papermoon", used as the second opening for "Soul Eater", was an instant hit. It was the song that fans were dreaming to listen to.

In 2009, the singer released best-albums for both solo projects, containing all the singles released for each one. The "Gothic Melting Ice Cream's Darkness Nightmare" album pleased fans, especially because it featured the 2008 limited single "Unlimited Sky" and its video. Another album, "I Kill My Heart" was also released, composed most of unused songs from past productions.

With the best-albums released, Tomoko decided sing again with "the brilliant green". 2010 was then filled with productions for the band. To show that the solo projects hadn't been forgotten, the singer made a new song for heavenly6 called "I'm Your Devil", but didn't release it. The song was received with much praise after it was distributed online and is expected to be another hit.

This week, Tommy announced on her twitter that the new song is getting a CD single release!
This girl knows how to rock and her style is so unique that it's awesome to hear she's coming back. While some people call her the "Japanese Avril Lavigne", don't forget that Tomoko started singing before, so maybe the influence was the other way around! But anyway, it's a cool image so whatever. My favorite song is definitely "Papermoon" and if I had to recommend an album, it would obviously be the best-album, since it gathers all her best songs (all singles, actually)!
Isn't she a cute rocker? ^^
CUTE! <3
